In-frame doors in deep olive, built around a range cooker with a fluted island and an arched window at the end of the room.
The room had a beautiful arched window at one end and almost nothing else going for it. Everything we did was about getting the eye down the room to that window rather than stopping it at a wall of cupboards.
So the tall storage went on one side only, the island took the fluted detail so it reads as furniture rather than joinery, and the wall opposite the window was left almost bare apart from two oak shelves.
In-frame doors are the most exacting thing we make. Every one on this kitchen was hung and adjusted by hand, twice: once in the workshop and again on site once the building had had its say.
“The doors close like a car door. That is the only way I can describe it.”
