We named the company after the two things you always have in. A kitchen should be the same: the plain, useful, well made thing you never have to think about again.
Why we started
Because getting a price for a kitchen in this country is absurd.
Between the four of us we had spent about forty years making kitchens for other people’s companies. The making was always the easy part. The part that made everyone miserable was the selling: the appointment, the mood board, the long silence, and then a number that had been arrived at by a process nobody would explain.
So in 2019 we took a unit behind the old bakery in Lewes and started again with one rule. Every single thing we sell has a price printed next to it. The doors, the carcasses, the stone, the handles, the lighting, the fitting. If you want to know what a kitchen costs at eleven at night in your dressing gown, you can find out at eleven at night in your dressing gown.
It turns out that when you cannot hide behind the quotation, you have to be genuinely good at the other bit. Which suits us, because that was always the part we liked.

Every door, every carcass, every handle has a price you can see before you speak to anyone. No quotes that arrive a week later.

Sprayed and assembled in our own workshop in Lewes. Not imported, not flat-packed, not badged.

On carcasses, hinges and runners. We would rather over-build it once than come back and fix it.

They are the same building. You walk in past the spray booth and the saw, which means you can see exactly what you are buying before you buy it, and you can put your hand on a door in the colour you are considering.
